Get started with the basics

First time use startscreen with the fretboard, score and buttonmenu. Scroll the buttonmenu or fold it out upwards with the arrow to see more buttons.

Longclick a measure and click the pencil to get into the measure edit mode. Add measures with the + button.

Select more measures by longclick the first and last measure. The “copy +” button will add or insert a copy of the selected measures at the end of the selection. The “+” button will add or insert only empty measures.

Touch a note position (notes or rest) and click the pencil to start edit note mode. Put notes on the score by touching the fretboard.

Set duration of the noteposition.

You can make a triad from a selected position. You can repeat the same notes on the next position with the “copy +” button. The “Tie +” button will copy and tie the notes to the next position. The “Tie” button will tie the existing notes on the next position of the same pitch. Remove a tie from a single note by toggle the note on the fretboard.

Toggle dot button to add or release augmented dot to the notes exept for 32th and whole note. The “Pencil with arrow” button will toggle the “fast edit” mode in which the editor will jump to the next note position after each note or duration action.

Open the Chord menu by clicking the “Pencil C” button. Choose the root, quality and if wanted the inversion to build the chord. Use the arrow to confirm.

The intervals of the chord are displayed above the score and all the posible positions on the fretboard are shown in grey. Active position within the chord are shown with a green background and notes outside the chord intervals with a brown background. You can see the already chosen intervals on the chord display by the lightgreen color. Toggle between interval or notenames on the fretboard with the “C / 1” button on the right.

Selected measures can be put to clipboard with “copy” or “cut” for pasting in other places. Select at least one measure that will be overwritten, if needed first insert one empty measure on the place you want to paste. Empty the clipboard with the “Clipboard striked” button.

In measure mode you can add barlines, repeats and endings and also change keys and time signatures for selected measures. These attributes will not be copied in case of pasting measures.

Play your score from the mainmenu. The mainmenu is always accesable with the most left button. Stop playing with the pause button or to click on a noetposition in the score.

You can set a loop of measures for playing by selecting them and push the loop button. The speed of playing is set in the songmenu.

Open the songmenu from the mainmenu. Longclick the song where you want to edit the settings. The current song is shown in blue.

Here you can change speed and the name parameters of the song. The songvalues for key and time signature can only be set when adding a new song.

Edits are stored realtime and you don.t need to save your edits. After reopen the app you pick up your work just where you left it.

For backup or share your work with other GCC users you can export it in .gcc format.

You can export in musicxml for exchange with other music notation software for additional layout features and printing.

Export as .gcc and musicxml as tab contains the information about the positioning on the fretboard and will be opened as a tab sheet.

Export and save to the phone storage or cloud storage.

Import songs from your phone or cloud storage.

Import gcc file format or unzipped musicxml files

You can import an unzipped musicxml file containing only one part. The red notes on the score have no placement info yet. All options are shown on the fretboard to choose from. Don’t forget to activate the edit note mode by pressing the pencil.

Or start with a chord progression imported from musicxml or edited in GCC.

In the settingsmenu you will find sound and screen options besides some general info and you can purchase disabling advertisements.
